Students’ Interface Programme was organised on 28/2/2022 by Bhavan’s Gandhi Centre of Science and Human Values, Bangalore in collaboration with Nrupathunga University, Govt. Science College, N.T.Road, Bengaluru to commemorate the discovery of Raman Effect which is celebrated as National Science Day.
The programme began with prayer by the students of the College. Prof. Sudheendra welcomed the guests and coordinated the programme. Vice Chancellor Dr. Srinivas Balli presided over the function and the Key Note address was delivered by Prof. U.V.Chandragi, Principal of Govt. Science College.
The Resource Person for the programme Dr. G.Venkatesh, retd. Professor of physics delivered a talk on A Journey into Light focusing on the life and works of C.V.Raman. Prof. G.Venkatesh gave a brief life sketch of Sir C.V.Raman who was awarded the Nobel Prize for his discovery Raman Effect in the year 1930. The speaker explained at length the discovery of Sir C.V.Raman. The talk was followed by discussion in which many students participated. More than 200 students were present. The faculty of Nrupatunga University were present. The programme ended with a vote of thanks.
