The programme started with an invocation song by the student. By watering the plant the programme is inaugurated by the chief guest, Principal and senior staff of the College.

Mr. Dhanush, degree student introduced the chief guest, earlier Dr. Shailaja,M Professor of Mathematics and convener of the programme welcomed the guests, gathering and the dignitaries and briefed about the Bhavan’s Gandhi Centre and its activities and about the lecture of the day.

The learned speaker Dr. G.Venkatesh, in his lecture mentioned the progress of the Science, especially physics from the last quarter of 19th century (i.e.1875-1900) important things happened, discoveries like Radioactivity by Henri Becquerel & Marie Curie; X-ray by Roentgen; Electron by J.J.Thomson; Electromagnetic theory by Maxwell, (Maxwell's equations for electromagnetism have been called the "second great unification in physics") Measurement of velocity of Light by Michelson-Morley; Experiment of Black Body Radiation by G.Kirchhof; Thesis of Thermodynamics by Max Planck and Neumann principles were some of the important things.

Prof. Venkatesh briefed the contributions of 20th Century scientists like Albert Einstein, Max Planck, Niels Bohr, Werner Heisenberg, Kelvin, Rutherford, Arnold Sommerfeld, Wolfgang Pauli, Erwin Schrodinger, Hendrik Lorentz and Indians like Meghanada Saha, C.V.Raman, S.Chandrasekhar, Satyendra Nath Bose, Homi J.Bhabha, Vikram Sarabhai and many more in his PPT presentation.

The programme ended with a vote of thanks by Prof. Muddukrishna.

Karnataka Physics Associations Prof. Srikanta, Prof. Basavaraj, Prof. Nandan are also present. More than 200 students and faculty participated.
