A Students’ Interface Programme was organised by Bhavan’s Gandhi Centre of Science on 10th March 2022 at the BBMP First Grade College for Women, Bhyraweshwaranagar, Bangalore.

The programme began with prayer by students of the College. To mark the importance of conservation of natural resources the programme was inaugurated by watering the plants by the dignitaries present. Dr. Radhakrishna, NSS Officer, Co-ordinator welcomed the guest and the gathering.

The Resource Person for the programme was Shri Nagesh Hegde, an environmentalist and Activist and also author of 46 books. He spoke on “Protection of Natural resources in India – Heroes and Heroines”. More than 400 students and faculty of the College were present. The speaker started his lecture with Gandhiji’s contributions to environmental protection and explained at length the initiative and contribution of various renowned environmentalists, international and national like Greta Tanrsberg, Rajendra Singh and Vandana Shiva etc. He urged the students to inculcate green values and protect natural resource which are dwindling day by day due to excessive use by mankind.

Dr. Meena Deshpande, Director, spoke about the mission of Bhavan’s Gandhi Centre of Science and Human Values. Sri Lakshmana Singh.N. Principal of the College, made presidential remarks, Sri Tukaram, Kannada Dept. compered the programme and the programme came to an end by thanking the participants and organizers.
